Therese earned her Masters of Occupational Therapy and her Bachelors in Psychology in Iowa at St. Ambrose University. Therese always knew she wanted to work in a health and human service profession with children. She thought about a variety of careers in both education and health care but nothing seemed like a good fit until she discovered occupational therapy. At the time, she was working as a nanny for a family who was researching all sorts of therapies for their son. Nothing sparked Therese’s imagination and interest like OT, and she is still excited to learn as much as she can to support the children and families she now serves. She has taken a special interest in Dynamic Movement Intervention, visual-vestibular rehabilitation, and assistive technologies. Therese has been able to combine her love of traveling with OT in the past, she finished her OT degree in Ireland, taught as an adjust professor of occupational therapy in Ecuador, and now she’ll be joining the NAPA team in Melbourne! Therese and her husband are looking forward to exploring their new home and Therese is especially looking forward to ordering her first flat white.
